The NASDAQ100-future is a future contract based on the index NASDAQ100.

The contract is traded on the futures market CME.

  • Delivery months  : March, June, September and December
  • Last trading day : third friday of the delivery month
  • Quotation : In points (each full point = USD 20 per contract)
  • Minimum price movement : 0,25 points (= USD 5 per contract) (tick size and value)

  • The NASDAQ100-index at 1.881.
  • Value of the NASDAQ100 future: 1.881 x 20 $ = 37.620 $.
  • Buy at 1.881 and sell at 1.890.
  • The minimum price movement or 'tick'  is 0,25 points.
  • The tickvalue or 0,25 points is 5 $
  • The value  of 9 points = 36 ticks x 5 = 180 $

 

When the NASDAQ100 goes from 1.881 $ to 1.890 $ a profit of 180 $ is realized on the NASDAQ100 future.
